Stacey Dix is the Founder and Managing Director of Kestrel Surveys, bringing over 15 years of experience in traffic data collection and survey management. A CAA-approved drone pilot since 2018, Stacey has been at the forefront of integrating drone technology into transport planning, helping clients collect safer, more accurate and more comprehensive traffic data.
Recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialists in drone-based traffic surveys, Stacey has delivered presentations to transport consultancies, local authorities and industry groups on the benefits of using drones for traffic data collection. Her expertise spans complex junction surveys, parking studies, queue analysis, infrastructure inspections, construction progress monitoring and aerial imaging.
Under Stacey’s leadership, Kestrel Surveys has become an award-winning, ISO 9001-certified business, trusted by transport consultants, local authorities and private sector clients across the UK. The company is known for combining innovative technology with exceptional customer service to deliver reliable, high-quality data that supports informed decision-making.
Kestrel Surveys operates a fleet of advanced drones, including the DJI Matrice 4TD, enabling us to carry out surveys in a wider range of weather conditions, including rain where appropriate. This provides greater flexibility and helps keep projects on schedule, whatever the weather.
As well as capturing turning count movements with one camera, Drone Surveys can capture the flow and dynamics of large and multiple junctions, as well as queue data, that is hard to dispute. Once commissioned we can be on site within 24 hours.
